BIO

Sean Cimino is a songwriter, producer, and composer whose work bridges post-punk urgency, cinematic sprawl, and rhythmic precision. For 14 years, as guitarist, programmer, and songwriter, Cimino was a member of Foster the People, the Grammy-nominated band that emerged in the 2010s with shimmering, off-kilter pop. His time with the group took him across the world—from Coachella, Glastonbury, and Fuji Rock to appearances on Saturday Night Live and other late-night shows—culminating in several live Grammy tribute’s to the Beach Boys. His writing extended beyond the band’s albums, with the track “Style” featured in the film Countdown.

Cimino has worked with Grammy-winning producers including Paul Epworth (Paul McCartney, Coldplay, U2), Greg Kurstin (Beck, Kendrick Lamar), and Rich Costey (Interpol, Nine Inch Nails)—all known for shaping genre-defining records. That same sense of depth and detail drives Peel, his post-punk project praised by Paste, Clash, and Flood Magazine. Their music has reached global stages, with “Catch & Release” featured in Celine’s SS26 Paris runway show and “Citizen X” included on the FIFA 21 soundtrack. Peel’s songs have also appeared in Aidy Bryant’s Shrill (Hulu) and Carlson Young’s indie film The Blazing World.

Now expanding into composition, Cimino is collaborating with Emmy-nominated composer Adam Taylor (The Handmaid’s Tale) on an upcoming album, alongside the launch of his solo ambient project, Aur, debuting this year.
